Stephen A. King is a dedicated trial lawyer with well over 100 jury trials under his belt. He is a community leader who has spent the entirety of his legal career representing the injured, oppressed and the betrayed. Stephen was given the Distinguished Student Award in law school and has been recognized as a Rising Star by several professional organizations. He has been chosen to give legal commentary on national and local television programs including major networks such as NBC. He has also been a sought after analyst and contributor by numerous print publications including: The Los Angeles Times, LA Focus, San Francisco Gate, The Mercury News, The Fresno Bee, The Baltimore Sun, and The Chicago Tribune. Stephen initially developed his sterling reputation as a trial lawyer as a public defender. Now, he has applied his trial skills in the civil law arena and has most recently participated in obtaining the largest non-economic damages verdict in Riverside County history of $40 million. After making thousands of successful arguments in courts throughout Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, Stephen has established an astounding reputation among judges and court personnel which precedes him each time he enters a courtroom. With over 100 jury trials and countless law and motion arguments under his belt, Stephen has accomplished a unique mix of hard-fought experience and youthful energy. He attended law school with Nick Rowley at the University of LaVerne where they were moot court, Appellate Advocacy and study partners. Today, Stephen serves as an executive committee member of the California Association of Black Lawyers and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Litigation Section. He is also an active member of the National Police Accountability Project, National Bar Association, Consumer Association of Attorneys of Los Angeles, and the UCLA Alumni Association. Stephen practices in the areas of Personal Injury, Negligent Security Law, Employment Law, Criminal Law and Civil Rights violations by city and county entities. He is a graduate of the Gerry Spence Full Length Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming where he attends annually and continues to be mentored by world renowned trial attorneys such as Gerry Spence, Paul Luvera, and Jim Fitzgerald. Stephen also works closely with well-known trial consultant David Clark and is an instructor at the Trojan Horse Method trial lawyers program where he leads trial presentation skills workshops to practicing trial lawyers from around the country.
